Balthazar & JackRock
are a dynamic electronic music duo from Sofia, Bulgaria, who
have been a fixture on the global electronic music scene for almost
30 years. Their musical journey began with a genuine passion for the
music of the future and a fascination for the
technical development of sound – a combination that has seen them
evolve into pioneers in both techno and trance.
Their style is characterized by a constantly evolving sound, where
uplifting, ethereal melodies and powerful
techno elements come together to create an immersive
dance floor experience. They always manage to convey the energy of
their live performances, something that has seen them perform on major stages
in over 30 countries worldwide.
What makes this duo extra special is also the humanity behind the
artists. JackRock is known for his wide range of
creative interests that go beyond music, such as design,
drawing and even cooking. He has playfully been nicknamed “the playing psychiatrist”, referring to unexpected rituals – such as interacting with a teddy bear –
that are symbolic of his unique artistic approach. On the other hand,
Balthazar has a rather eccentric hobby: he collects airports by
trying to land in as many places as possible that he has never been to before.
This curiosity and joy in discovering the unknown is a constant source of
inspiration for their music.
Commercially and artistically, they are affiliated with renowned labels such
as KNTXT, Drumcode, Filth On Acid and the legendary
trance label Black Hole. Their iconic track “In The Dark” has achieved impressive positions on the Beatport charts – for
example as one of the best-selling trance tracks of 2024 – and their
remix of Jam & Spoon’s “Right In The Night” has collected millions of streams worldwide, proving time and again
that their music continues to captivate both in the studio and on
stage.

One Woman Army
from Soulcatcher EP released in may 2025 by KNTXT, fits
perfectly within the signature style of Balthazar & JackRock. As
can be heard, the track combines energetic techno beats with the
immersive, trance-like melodies the duo is known for – a perfect
reflection of their creative evolution on the dance floor. The track
was released on SoundCloud on April 25, 2025, allowing fans to
immediately experience the new sound and compare it to previous releases such
as “In The Dark” or their remix of “Right In The Night”.
